Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and main effect of Bokashi chicken coop and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and production of Dayak onion plants. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for 6 months starting from May – October 2020. The design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is Bokashi chicken coop fertilizer (B) with a dose of 0, 405, 810, 1215 g/plot while the second factor is NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 (N) fertilizer with a dose of 0, 1,25, 2,5, 3.75 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of tubers per clump (tuber), wet weight per clump (g), dry weight per clump (g), tuber shrinkage percentage (%), and number of main roots. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ further test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of Bokashi chicken coop fertilizer and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 had a significant effect on plant height, number of tubers per clump, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, and number of main roots. The best combination of treatment was Bokashi chicken coop fertilizer at 1215 g/plot and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 at a dose of 2.5 g/plant (B3N2). The main effect of giving Bokashi chicken coop fertilizer was on plant height, number of tubers per clump, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, tuber loss percentage and number of main roots with the best treatment being 1215 g/plot (B3). The main effect of giving NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was significant on plant height, number of tubers per clump, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, percentage of tuber loss and number of main roots, the best treatment dose of 2.5 g/plant (N2 ).
