Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of oil palm sludge and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of gambas on peat media. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, KM 11 N0.113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study lasted for 3 months starting from August to October 2021. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor was palm oil sludge waste (L) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 125, 250, and 375 g/plant. The second factor NPK 16:16:16 (N) consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 3.75, 7.5 and 11.25 g/plant. Parameters observed were flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, number of fruit and number of remaining fruit. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of giving oil palm sludge waste and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best dose of oil palm sludge waste 375 g/plant and NPK 16:16:16 11.25 g/plant. The main effect of giving palm oil sludge waste had a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best dose of 375 g/plant. The main effect of giving NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best dose of 11.25 g/plant.
