Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of interaction between doses of elephant dung and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and yield of curly red chilies. The study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted for 5 months, February – June 2021. The design used in the study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor of elephant dung fertilizer consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 125, 250 and 375 g/polybag. The second factor of 16:16:16 NPK fertilizer consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 3.75, 7.5 and 11.25 g/polybag. Observation parameters: plant height, flowering age, harvest age, fruit weight per plant, number of fruit per plant, fruit length and number of fruit residues. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the level of 5%. Based on the results, it was concluded as follows: The interaction of elephant dung and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment dose of elephant dung is 375.00 g/polybag and NPK 16:16:16 11.25 g/polybag. The main effect of elephant dung dose was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment dose is 375.00 g/polybag. The main effect of 16:16:16 NPK dose was significant on all observation parameters, the best treatment was 11.25 g/polybag.
