Abstract

Ships that lean continuously at the roro (roll on – roll off) port of Air Putih Bengkalis cause damage to the fenders. To reduce the risk of damage to the dolphin's concrete structure and the ship's hull, fenders need to be redesigned for ships that are currently operating. The purpose of this study is to plan the type and type of fender on the energy that works due to ships leaning on pier II, which is integrated with the wharf structure and obtains the appropriate fender specifications, so that damage to ships and docks can be prevented. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive quantitative analysis method. Data processing by collecting primary and secondary data. Primary data is obtained by means of field observations, while the secondary data obtained are ship, wind, current, wave, and tidal data which will be classified for planning the fender system on the pier. Fender design criteria using the shibata fender team. The results of the calculation of the collision force of the KMP ship. Bahari Nusantara = 0.137 tm and the ship KMP Swarna Putri = 0.144 tm. Based on the value of the fender design energy (EF), obtained a value of 4,313 kN.m for the KMP ship. Bahari Nusantara and 4,534 kN.m for KMP ships. Princess Swarna. So that the type of fender used is the cell type fender CSS 300 with rubber class G1,2 issued by the shibata fender team. The fender is installed vertically on the front side of the pier, precisely on the breasting dolphin because it takes into account changes in sea level elevation that changes during low tide.
