Abstract

This study is motivated by the students’ learning outcomes which are less optimal. The signs of students whose problems in learning difficulties can be seen such as: it is difficult for students to achieve mastery learning on certain materials or all materials in the subject of Islamic Studies at school, so that the results of students’ learning show unsatisfactory achievement or low scores for the subject of Islamic Studies at school. The problem formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of guidance and counseling on students’ difficulties in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 1 Minas, Siak Regency. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of guidance and counseling on students’ difficulties in learning Islamic Studies in class X1 at SMAN 1 Minas, Siak Regency. The population of this study consists of 130 students and the sample consists of 100 Muslim students. This study has 2 (two) variables, the variable X (guidance and counseling) and the variable Y (learning difficulties). The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a simple regression test. The results of this study show that the significance value is smaller than 0.05, which is 0.000, then the hypothesis is accepted, it means that there is an influence of guidance and counseling on students’ difficulties in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 1 Minas, Siak Regency. The magnitude of the influence of guidance and counseling between variables X and Y is 0.366, which is in the range of 0.20 – 3.399, or in the category of low level influence. So, it can be concluded that the influence of guidance and counseling on students’ difficulties in learning Islamic Studies in class X1 at SMAN 1 Minas, Siak Regency is "low"
