Abstract

Traditional market environmental management basically aims to maintain the quality of the traditional market environment as well as possible, but the implementation of traditional market environmental management is not only the responsibility of the government, but is determined by the participation of the traditional market players. So it is necessary to study the level of participation of actors on the quality of the traditional market environment. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of participation of traditional market players in Tualang District, Siak Regency, as a reference for related parties in developing strategies to increase actor participation in the quality of the traditional market environment. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method that is needed to describe the characteristics and quality conditions of the traditional market environment and to describe the level of participation of traditional market traders based on the results and research findings in Tualang District, Siak Regency. The results of this study are known that the characteristics and environmental quality conditions of traditional markets in Tualang District, Siak Regency are generally still in poor condition and only Tualang People's Market can be assumed as a category of environmental quality with fairly good conditions. It is also known that the participation level of traders in the high category is 321 or 29%, the participation rate in the medium category is 476 or 43% and the participation rate in the low category is 307 or 28%.
