Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the factors that influence economic development in an area. There are 1151 MSMEs spread across Dumai City. The Dumai-Pekanbaru toll road is an infrastructure that makes it easy for MSME actors and attracts consumers to come so that it can increase the income of MSME actors and the regional income of Dumai City. This research aims to see the effect of the Dumai-Pekanbaru toll road on MSMEs in Dumai Selatan District. This study uses a quantitative qualitative descriptive method. To obtain data using data collection techniques, namely field observations and questionnaires distributed to 119 respondents in Dumai Selatan District using simple random sampling. The results of the questionnaire were processed using multiple linear regression analysis. The targets to be achieved are (a) identifying the characteristics of MSMEs, (b) identifying Dumai City government policies, (c) analyzing the influence of MSMEs in Dumai Selatan District due to the Dumai-Pekanbaru toll road. This study shows that food/beverage processed MSMEs are 54%, which is more than other MSME sectors. Based on government policy, Dumai City does not have a special policy from the Dumai City government but only follows the regulations of the central government. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis with the T test on the variable activities of MSME actors, distribution of goods, travel time and number of visitors, namely 0.253, 0.462, 0.876 and 0.819 where all variables have a significant value greater than 0.05 which means there is no effect on business.
