Abstract
An oil well that can no longer be produced naturally (natural flow) needs to use an artificial lift in the form of a sucker rod pump. The sucker rod pump is an artificial lift for wells that have low to medium viscosity characteristics, have no sand problems, high Gas Oil Ratio (GOR), vertical wells and have high fluid levels. As the production of the sucker rod pump goes on, there will be some performance problems in the pump, one of which is friction that occurs in the pump. The occurrence of friction on the pump will reduce the performance of the pump which may cause a decrease in the production flow rate. In this study, a comparison of pump damage caused by friction in wells in the AS field will be carried out which has different fluid viscosity values, namely at values of 5 cp, 14 cp. To analyze the effect of viscosity on the friction that occurs in the sucker rod pump using a software application, namely Total Well Management with readings from the dynagraph graph obtained in the measurement of the pumping cycle with a tool called a dynamometer. By using some dynagraph graphs of the wells in the AS-1 and AS-2 fields, it can be seen that the viscosity affects the friction that occurs in the sucker rod pump.. By knowing the damage that occurred to the sucker rod pump in one of the wells, a redesign of the pump will be carried out using the Prosper software. After analyzing this research, it found friction problems in the SRP-01 well pump and SRP-02 well by looking at the dynagraph graph, for that reason, a redesign of the well pump was carried out. The results of the design on the pump using 3 scenarios are by selecting the pump size, stroke length, rod type, and pump speed in the SRP-01 well to get a flow rate of 948 STB/D and pump efficiency from 61.1% to 80% and in the SRP- 01 well results obtained 818 STB/D and pump efficiency 58.1% to 89.9%.
