Abstract
Along with the increasing need for information system applications. Web-based applications are the main choice, because of the ease of installation, ease of access and multiplatform. Web-based applications require a web server to be accessed by clients either through the intranet or on the internet. This study aims to measure the performance of Apache and Lighttpd web servers, the parameters used in this study are: throughput, connection, reply, request, and error, the tools used in this research are Httperf, PuTTY, and Filezila. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out on these parameters, it can be concluded that testing using a static web such as HTML documents and images, the Apache web server gives good results on static web testing. However, in serving dynamic web such as PHP documents, it is not as optimal as the Apache web server. This test is only carried out in terms of Connection, Reply, Request, and Error, it is necessary to do more in-depth testing on the web server load balance and other subjects, so that web server users get maximum results
