Abstract
social support is support in the form of assistance both in terms of emotions in the form of comfort or positive value from others so that it can help someone in overcoming events or problems in the form of challenges. This study aims to determine the picture of peer social support in children with special needs in the inclusive school X in Pekanbaru. The method in this research is quantitative descriptive by involving 113 subjects in elementary school X in the new week to be taken using random sampling techniques. The measuring instrument used was a social support scale. 47,7876% (54 subjects) and women with a percentage of 52,2124% (59 subjects). Based on the number of subjects as much as 113 support in the female sex category is higher than that of men. Based on the age category from 9 years to 13 years of age the high level of presentation is the age of 11 years with a percentage (42.4779%). Based on the results of the analysis based on aspects shows that emotional support, internal support, and appreciation are in the medium category. But this is different from the aspect of interpersonal support, which aspect is in the high category of 33.62%. This research reveals that peer social support can make motivation and can improve social development in children with special needs.
