Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of social acceptance of regular students towards disabled students at YLPI Pekanbaru Elementary School. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a sample of 61 students. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling technique. The data collection method uses social acceptance scale compiled by Irawati (2015) which has been modified. The results showed that the majority of regular students were in the moderately accepting category with a percentage of 42.6%. If viewed from the sex of regular students, the majority of male and female students are in the category of quite accepting with a percentage of 48.3% for male students and 40.6% for female students. When viewed from the indicators, the majority of regular students understand the limitations of disabled students with a percentage of 32.8%, the majority of regular students have a very positive outlook with a percentage value of 49.2%, the majority of students treat disabled students with a positive attitude with a percentage of 39.4 %, as friends the majority of students are in the category of not accepting with a percentage of 37.7%, the majority of regular students are willing to study together with a percentage of 41.0%, playing together, the majority of regular students are in the category of not willing with a percentage of 36.1%, the majority students in the category do not want to work with disabled students with a percentage of 36.1%.
