Abstract

ABSTRACT Application of Islamic Business Ethics and Consumer Loyalty to Food Commodity Traders at Cik Puan Market Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. There are still many transgressions and cheating, such as the non-standard scales used, then the mixing of good and bad merchandise quality, namely by mixing it with defective merchandise. The purposes of this study are to analyze (1) The characteristics of traders and consumers as well as the business profile in Cik Puan Market, (2) The application of Islamic business ethics in Cik Puan Market, (3) analyze the level of consumer loyalty in Cik Puan Market, (4) The influence of characteristics consumer personal and the application of Islamic business ethics toward consumer loyalty in Cik Puan Market (5) analyzes the strategy for increasing the application of Islamic business ethics in Cik Puan Market. This research was conducted using a survey method during June to November 2021 located at Cik Puan Market, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The data used are the characteristics of consumers, traders, and business profiles, then the application of Islamic business ethics, the level of consumer loyalty. It is useful to determine the effect of it, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results of this study are (1) the average age of traders were 37,5 years, male sex, trading experience 9-12 years, number of family dependents 3 persons, education level 9-12 years with a business profile number of workers as much as 1 person , stand area of 3 m2 and 7,5 m2 with an average of having a business license and own capital. The average age of consumers are 37,78 years, gender is female, education level is 12 years, shopping experience is 8-15 years, the number of dependents in the family is 2-4 person and the occupation is housewife. (2) the application of Islamic business ethics is in the good category. (3) the level of consumer loyalty is also in the good category. (4) the variables that affect consumer loyalty are shut the nakedness, clean and tidy, consumer age, shopping experience, number of dependents and recommendations to other buyers or potential buyers by 30% with a model goodness test with good results. (5) Improvement strategies that can apply such as increased sales knowledge, market and costumer management of Islamic Regulation that focus on Tauhid and Fiqh Muamalat, recoiling processes and Increased of security, hygiene, convenience market and parking environment.
