Abstract
Progressive cavity pump (PCP) is the one of another alternative which is good for artificial lift because it has high compactness and efficiency with low cost compared to other pumps. PCP is a pump that has a working principle as a positive displacement pump. In general, PCP will experience a decrease in pump capacity, resulting in the expected production rate (theoretically) not matching the expected production rate (low pump efficiency). So that the PCP pump will be redesingned to increase the oil flow rate by taking into account the efficiency range of pump, the method that will be used in this research is the nodal analysis method, where the nodal point is right at the bottom of the well. The study in this paper also analyzes the preassure difference generate by the PCP pump. From the diffrence in pressure of the PCP pump, the suction pressure of the pump can be plotted as the pump intake curve of the pump. If the pump intake curve is plotted with the IPR curve, then the resulting intersection is the optimum production rate for the PCP pump.
