Abstract

Study of the Effect of Road Geometry in Supporting User Safety at the Simpang Beringin-Maredan-Simpang Tulang Timur STA 03+550 – STA 05+050 Imanuddin Sukri NPM. 173121002 Abstract The construction of a road segment is closely related to geometric. So that the roads that are built can meet the criteria for safe roads. So as to provide safety and comfort for road users who pass through these roads. The main objective of this study is to examine the effect of road geometry on the safety and comfort of road users by referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 11/PRT/M/2010, Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 19/PRT/M/2011, Government Regulation No. 34 of 2006 and article 22 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia no. 22 of 2009. The method used in this research is to use qualitative methods and quantitative methods. Where in the qualitative method by collecting primary data and secondary data as well as literature studies. Next perform data processing, analysis and discussion. While the quantitative method is to perform data processing by calculating the data that has been collected. As well as comparing with calculations in the field with the count of bina marga which is the basic reference for safe roads. Looking at the results of field observations, it can be concluded that on the Simpang Beringin – Maredan – Simpang Tualang Timur STA 03+550 – STA 05+050, the comparison between the existing superelevation gains and the permitted superelevation at the four corners under review shows no there is an existing superelevation that is the same as or close to the permitted superelevation, namely e mak 10%, while the most dangerous bend is at STA 04+778, where the field speed is 47 Km/hour, while R is too small, namely 51.98 m, and e. in the field 3.34%. This will cause a very large centrifugal force so that the level of comfort and the level of vehicle safety is very dangerous. Therefore, it can be concluded that the road that passes through the four corners is quite dangerous in terms of geometry.
