Abstract

The research area located on the Kampar river, precisely in the village of Buluh Cina and surrounding areas is a flood plain environment. The flood carries sediments with certain currents that will make the characteristics of the sediment deposits. Sedimentation characteristics are very important in determining the depositional environment. And rivers that are carriers of sediment supply with the currents will have different characteristics depending on the location and conditions that affect it. In the research area there are 4 characteristics of sedimentary facies, namely medium sand with organic material, fine sand with organic material, silt with organic material, and silt with iron Fe content. Each of these sedimentary facies has its own unique characteristics. Based on the analysis of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), the highest mineral content is SiO2 (Silicone Oxide) with values 72 to 76 in each sample. And there are also other minerals in the form of Fe mn2 O4, K Al2, H2 K Al3. The study area has 3 depositional environments, each of which facies interpret the environment, namely Oblique Accretion, Sand Bar and Overbank.
