Abstract
Research was conducted in Dumai City, Riau Province. The research objective is to determine the amount of discharge in the river flow, to know the relationship between river and groundwater flow, to calculate the rainfall, and to analyze the condition of water balance. There were 12 river points that has been measured with river flow system is effluent, overall the pH value of river water ranged from 4.41 - 6.01, the total dissolved solids (TDS) ranged from 40 mg/l at the upstream - 6034 at the downstream. The value of the electrical conductivity ranged between 63.5 μS/cm is at the upstream - 9929 μS/cm at the downstream. The relationship between total dissolved solids (TDS) and electrical conductivity (EC) is directly proportional, TDS – EC value increasing towards the sea. Average rainfall in the research is 8,328.6
