Abstract

External Factors. Leadership style is the behavior that is used by a person when that person tries to influence the behavior of others as seen. Meanwhile Motivation is a factor that encourages a person to do something in certain activities, because it is not often caused as a factor that drives someone's behavior. The leadership style of the people including in bureaucratic leadership and leadership in this way has the weaknesses of one of them to be a common communication and attention to the tasks and work of employees. As well as the arbitrary leadership in using its power in leading to the impact of the Pekanbaru City branch of the workforce, the purpose of the research to find out and analyze the effect of leadership on the motivation of PT Pegadaian (Persero) branch of the Pekanbaru City branch. Pegadaian (Persero) Pekanbaru Kota Branch. Types and sources of data used are primary data and secondary data, while data collection is through observations, questionnaires, interviews, and research documentation. After the data is obtained and then grouped according to the type in a table, then the data is analyzed and in relation to the theories in the form of description so that the conclusions can be taken. Based on a simple linear regression analysis, an R Square value of 0.53 means that the leadership has no significant effect on the motivation of the PT Pegadaian (Persero) branch of the City New City branch, while the remaining 47% depicts the variables unmatched in this study.
