Abstract
Discipline is very important in a person, because it is really influence in life and others in order to be comfortable, dynamic and effective. The existence of guidance as an assistance which is given to students both individually and group in order to develop students become an independent person, if there is a violation, the teacher can give warn in the form of punishment to increase students‟ discipline.The symptoms in this study can be looked at from there were some students who came late during students‟ activities such as in morning line, came late during lesson,went out during the class, out of class when the lesson will start, dressed unappropriately with the rules, did not keep the environment such as doing littering. It should not be happened because disciplne is very influence in all aspects. The formulation of the problem was “ is there any significant influence of guidance and punishment toward students‟ discipline at Mts.Hidayatul Ma‟arifiyah Pangkalan Kerinci Pelalawan Regency. The population of this study were all of students at Mts. Hidayatul Ma‟arifiyah Pangkalan Kerinci Pelalawan Regency with the number 183 students and sample in this study were 65 students.Questionnaire and documentation were used in collecting the data. This was correlational study with one sample kolmogorovsmirnow method. The result shown that there was significant influence of guidance and punishment toward students‟ discipline at Mts.Hidayatul Ma‟arifiyah Pangkalan Kerinci Pelalawan Regency based on annova 0.000<0.05.This statement was proved from the coeficient correlation was 0.314, it means the influence of guidance and punishment toward students‟ discipline was 0.314 or 31.4% which was placed between 0,20 –0,399 that was categorized into low. While coeficient determination 0.561. It showed that discipline was influenced by guidance and punishment were 56.1%, while 100%-56,1% = 43,9 was influenced by other factors.
