Abstract
The study was conducted in Kapur Ix Subdistrict, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province, which was located at coordinates between 0º18'28.18 '' LU - 0º8'30.06 '' LU and 100º24'31.20 ''BT - 100º38'45,00 '' BT. The purpose of this research is to assess the feasibility of the geotourism potential and development efforts. The research methods used include mapping tourist destinations, lithology sampling, geotourism feasibility analysis to SWOT analysis in the study area. Geomorphology of the study area is divided into 4 units, which is called Hilly rather steep hill unit, Steep Hill Unit, The unit is rolling hills, And the Unit of the Hill is Very Strong. Rock lithology at the research stations has the same lithology as sandstone. The diversity of geological structures also found such as fault structures and muscular structures that have direction of affirmation is northeast-southwest.There are 6 tourism objects that have geotourism potential in the study area, namely Sosa Waterfall, Patamuan Waterfall, Lubuk Batang Waterfall, Lubuk Sati Waterfall, Sialang Batu, and Hot Water Bath.
