Abstract

This research is entitled "Traditional Dance Performance of Titian Sounds in Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province". The problem in this research is how is the Titian Sounds dance performance in Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province? The purpose of this study was to determine the sounding footbridge dance performance in Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency. The theory used is Soedarsono's theory (1997:15-135) about the elements of dance, namely motion, music, floor design, dynamics, themes, make-up, costumes, lighting, property. Sources and types of data are primary data and secondary data in this case using primary data through direct observation interviews or using books and cameras to be documented. The methodology of this research is descriptive method with quantitative. The data collection technique used was structured interview technique, non-participant observation and documentation, the research sample consisted of 6 dancers, 3 musicians and the audience. The resource person is Ms. Eli Yanti as the dance stylist. The results showed that there were 8 types of motion, consisting of greeting opening motions, dance opening movements, circular motions, rice harvesting movements, climbing wooden footbridges, upholding rice yields, lenggang motions, closing movements. Using musical instruments, namely gongs, drums, and calempung. In this dance performance, the sound of the footbridge uses the property of the basket. This traditional dance of Titian Sounds has a floor design consisting of facing right, facing left, straight, and curved. The dynamics contained in the traditional dance of titian sound in Langgam are low level and medium level. Make-up or make-up in this traditional dance performance is using pink eyeshadow, pink blouse used, as well as red lipstick. The costumes used in this Titian Sound dance are wearing a long red kebaya with a heart, side cloth and belt, lejing pants, the head using a rectangular hijab combined with fish eye cloth and decorated with a fashion mando.
