Abstract

This study aims to determine the Badeo Music Performance in the Ritual Treatment Ceremony in Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. Badeo music performance is a ritual treatment ceremony carried out by the field community to get healing from illnesses suffered such as jealousy, envy or interference from supernatural beings. The theory used in this study is the theory of Jaeni (2014). Jaeni said that in the performance there are four underlying aspects, namely 1) the human aspect is the subject matter that drives all dynamics in the performing arts,2) the performance aspect is everything preparation before the show starts, both offerings ceremony, stage preparation, etc., 3) the audience aspect is as a match. partner for performances) and 4) management aspects are an absolutely necessary regulatory system in ceremonies, performances, and performing arts. This study uses descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. In this study, there were 9 sources, namely Mr. M.Nor, Mr. Syarul, Mr. Kolek, Khairul, Mr. Amir, Mrs. Nurfia, Mr. Uti, Mr. Gitok, and Mr. Zulhijar. As for the preparations that must be met in badeo music performances such as performance venues, and other tools such as Katobung (drums) and tetawak (gongs), both of which are musical instruments used in badeo music performances, other tools such as mats. made from pandan leaves, kopou shoots, rice beans, and dian (candles). Badeo music performances are held at night, from 22:00 to finish. The results of this study are the authors get in-depth information about badeo music performances in ritual treatment ceremonies in Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province.
