Abstract
The purpose of the study is to find out if there is any relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction on housewives in Ganting Gunung village, Padang Panjang Timur district. The subjects in this study are 202 people who are selected by using cluster random sampling techniques. The data collection instruments are of gratitude scale consisting of 12 items adapted from gratitude scale compiled by Listiandini and the life satisfaction scale consists of 31 items compiled by the researcher. The data are analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis where the results of the correlation analysis showed the r value of 0.559 (**) with a significance value of 0,000 (p <0.05). The result snows that there is a significant positive relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction on housewives in Ganting Gunung Village, Padang Panjang Timur District. It means that the higher the gratitude, the higher the life satisfaction of the housewives of Ganting Gunung Village, Padang Panjang District, and on the contrary.
