Abstract

The performance of civil servants in the Class IIB Selatpanjang Correctional Institution is strongly influenced by the motivational factors of the employees themselves in doing their work. Civil servants within the Class IIB Selatpanjang correctional institution have a very strategic role as the spearhead of public services. The focus of the research at the Class IIB Selatpanjang Correctional Institution focuses on knowing the motivational factors and obstacles to work motivation of Civil Servants. The research methodology used is a qualitative research method. Based on the research in the field, it can be concluded that the factors that influence the work motivation of civil servants in the Class IIB Selatpanjang prison environment are: 1. There are still civil servants who do not understand the work given; 2. There are still civil servants who are not happy with the work given; 3. There are still civil servants who do not complete the work on time. Meanwhile, the obstacles that affect work morale are: 1. Geographical conditions; 2. Difficulty in getting training due to limited funds; 3. Differences in the character of Civil Servants; 4. The old award.
