Abstract

This research was conducted at the Islamic University of Riau. Promotional Mix is the most effective tool to communicate with customers (both consumers and intermediaries). According to the American Marketing Association in Wijaya (2012:164) in Siti Salbiah, Budi Wahyu Mahardika. The same thing as stated by Usman (2012:17) interest is something that determines a person. This request has a very big influence on learning bicouse with interest someone will do something they are interest in. The purpose of this research is to find out, analyze and explain how the promotions carried out by the Business Administration Study Program and the obstacles in the promotion process to the interest of prospective new students are in line with the objectives of this study. According to Sugiyono (2012:19) descriptive research is a method that serves to describe or provide an overview of the object under study through data or samples that have been collected as they are. Then the population and sample in This study were vice Chancellor I of the Islamic University of Riau, the Head of the Administration (BAAK) of the Islamic University of Riau, Head of the Business Aministration Study Program of Fisipol Uir, Simfokom Uir, Prospective New Students of the Business Administration Study Program of Fisipol Uir 2019 A total of 40 people, The Sampling Technique Using Purposive Sampling quoted by Sugiyono (2018;81) and the theory that the author uses is the Wijaya Theory (2012;164) and Ferdinand Theory (2002;129). With indicators set as many as 8 indicators. After All Data is Analyzed With Quantitative Research. So, The Result Of Research on The Effect Of Promotion On asking prospective New Student To Choose The Business Administration Study Program, Faculty Of Social And Political Sciences, Riau of Islamic University In pekanbaru in The "Influential" Category were obtaind.
