Abstract

Unofficial fees are fees that are generally incurred to obtain a distinct advantage or profit for the organization against the law. Unofficial taxes can lead to acts of violence, theft and crime. This also happened at the Pasar Pinggir, and traders were forced to pay for security reasons. Is the formulation of the problem in this study like the formal and informal reactions to unscrupulous organizations that carry out illegal charges to traders in the Pinggir ? The type of research in this research is included in the qualitative research, in order to describe the real situation of what is happening at the research site through the collection, identification and analysis of data, in order to obtain an answer to the formulated problem. The key informants in this study were traders or victims of illegal charges by individual organizations, while the informants were village chiefs, members of the police force, heads of individual organizations and organizations who extorted. . In this study, the authors found that there were no formal or informal reactions made to illegal payments made by individual organizations. This is caused by the ignorance of government and police officials, as well as people who do not dare to refuse because of threats and violence.
