Abstract

This research was conducted in Tembilahan City. The research problem was if there is effect of parents’ parenting towards juvenile of motorbike gang in Tembilahan City. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of parents’ parenting towards juvenile of motorbike gang in Tembilahan City. The technique of data analysis was descriptive statistic product moment correlation by using questionnaires with total 29 items for parenting variable and 31 statement items for juvenile variable spread to 75 samples who were the teenagers joining motorbike gang in Tembilahan City. Based on data analysis of the research result, then it can be concluded that there is negatively significant correlation between parents’ parenting towards juvenile of motorbike gang in Tembilahan City. Parenting pattern gives contribution in the amount of 54.60% towards juvenile of motorbike gang in Tembilahan City. It means, the higher the parenting pattern then the juvenile of motorbike gang will be lower, and vice versa. It is expected that the parents actively improve their parenting pattern until the juveniles especially motorbike gang members can be decreased. It is also expected to the teenagers to not following bad habit and behavior which then will disadvantage themselves in the future and try to find out and train their own potentials towards positive direction.
