Abstract

As a society whose majority is Muslim, the people of the Tiga Barat Island subdistrict themselves make religion one of the solutions for all the problems in their lives. Religion can bring up positive feelings in a person, can reassure the mind, as a helper in achieving the happiness of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and life satisfaction in the people of Tiga Barat Island. The population in this study was the sub-district of Pulau Tiga Barat with a total sample of 268 subjects. The sampling technique in this study uses probability sampling which is used by the method, namely cluster sampling. Data collection uses two scales, namely Religiosity, which has 13 items and a Life Satisfaction scale with 5 items. The data analysis method uses Spearman's Rank Correlation analysis. The results of statistical analysis showed a correlation of 0.259 with the value of Sig. 0.000 (p<0.05). This shows that there is a significant relationship between religiosity and life satisfaction in the Tiga Barat Island community. Thus, the higher the religiosity, the higher the life satisfaction and conversely the lower the religiosity, the lower the life satisfaction.
