Abstract

This research is entitled Intensive Reading Ability of Class X High School Students Negeri 1 Teluk Meranti, Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency Teaching 2020/2021. The problem discussed in this research is How Finding Reading Information for Class X Students of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Meranti Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. This study aims to describe, analyze, interpret, and summarize information and data about intensive reading skills in determine the main ideas, explanatory ideas, and conclusions of class students' reading X SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Meranti, Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency Academic Year 2020/2021, the population in this study is all X IPA totaling 22 people. The sample used is a full/saturated sample. The theory used is the theory of Hendry Guntur Tarigan (2008). Abdul Razak (2005), Dp. Tampubolon (2015). Result of intensive reading ability research in finding reading information for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Meranti Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency in determining ideas main idea, explanatory idea, and conclusion of the reading. The method used in This research is secondary and quantitative research approach. Determine the main idea in the reading text is categorized as sufficient (75.15%), determining explanatory ideas in the reading text are categorized as sufficient (67.50%), determining the conclusion of the reading in the reading text is in the medium category (62.12%). Could concluded that the average intensive reading ability to find information in the reading of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Meranti, Teluk District Meranti Pelalawan Academic Year 2020/2021 is with an average 68.26% are categorized as sufficient and the hypothesis is rejected.
