Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of leg muscle power to the speed of the front kick of pencak silat extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kerinci. This type of research is correlational research. The population in this study was the population in this study were extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kerinci, totaling 12 people. The sampling technique was total sampling and the number of samples was 12 people. The instruments used are the vertical jump test and the pencak silat front kick test. The results of the normality test of the two data were normally distributed. The calculated r value = 0.586 and the table r value is 0.576. thus rcount>rtable or 0,586>0,576. The coefficient of determination is 34.3%. The conclusion of this study is that there is a contribution of leg muscle power to the speed of the front kick of pencak silat extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalan Kerinci with a percentage of 34.3%.
