Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the contribution of arm muscle explosive power and eye and hand coordination to basketball shooting free throws in extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik. The type of this research is multiple correlation. The population and sample in this study were extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik, totaling 17 people. The research instrument used was the arm muscle explosive power test by rejecting the medicine ball, the eye and hand coordination test and the shooting free throw test. The data analysis technique used is the multiple correlation value test. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, conclusions can be drawn as follows (1) There is a contribution of arm muscle explosive power to basketball shooting free throws in extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik with rcount = 0.561 > rtable 0.482 in the strong category or there is a contribution of 31 ,47%, (2) There is a contribution of eye and hand coordination to basketball shooting free throw in extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik with a value of rcount = 0.503 > rtable 0.482 in the medium category or there is a contribution of 25.30%, (3) There is a contribution explosive power of arm muscles and eye and hand coordination on shooting free throws in basketball games for extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik with rcount = 0.629 > rtable 0.482 in the strong category or there is a contribution of 39.56%.
