Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the contribution of eye and hand coordination and arm muscle strength to the ability of tennis service at Club Faztec Junior Athletes Pekanbaru. The type of this research is multiple correlation. The population and sample in this study were Athletes Club Faztec Junior Pekanbaru, amounting to 11 people, the sampling technique used was saturated sampling, namely the entire population was sampled, thus the research sample amounted to 11 athletes. The research instrument used was a test of eye and hand coordination, a test of arm muscle strength with push ups, and a tennis service ability test. The data analysis technique used is the multiple correlation value test and calculates the contribution value. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that (1) There is a contribution of eye and hand coordination to the ability of court tennis service at Club Faztec Junior Athletes Pekanbaru with a value of rcount = 0.741 > rtable = 0.602 with a contribution value of 54.91%, (2) There is a contribution of arm muscle strength to the ability to serve tennis in the Athlete Club Faztec Junior Pekanbaru with a value of rcount = 0.711 > rtable = 0.602 with a contribution value of 50.55%, (3) There is a contribution of eye and hand coordination and arm muscle strength on the ability of court tennis service at Athletes Club Faztec Junior Pekanbaru with a value of rcount = 0.848 or with a contribution value of 71.91%.
