Abstract

The research entitled "show silat in marital tradition in the Village Community of Kota Lama, Kunto Darussalam District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province”.. The problem in this study is how is the show of silat in the marriage tradition in the Village Community of Kota Lama Kunto Darussalam Rokan Hulu Regency? The research goal is to determine the art silek performance at the marriage event in Kota Lama District Village Koto Lamo Darussalam. The theory used is Sal (1996:49), of the performance salvoes covering a variety of spectacle, all a spectacle can be called a show. To say as a performance, a spectacle must meet four requirements of the show, namely: 1) there must be a planned spectacle for disugugkan to the audience, 2) a player playing to the performance, 3) the role played to the audience, 4) carried out above the stage and accompanied by music. Sources and types of data are primary data and secondary data in this case use primary data through an observation interview directly or use books and cameras for documenting. The method used is a descriptive method of analysis based on qualitative data that uses data collection techniques in terms of interviews and documentation, a research sample consists of 2 scavengers, 5 musicians, and audience. The source is Atuk Palarwis as a tribe or parents in the Old City. Father Toni Afrison as the teacher of Trustees at the old town village. Based on the results of the study of silat at the wedding event began when the bride and groom's house has approached the bridegroom's house. As for the pattern of silek art movement namely: sombah tribute, bangautobang, langkahmeragulawan, muhagolawan, podang, menipulawan, tikam, and sombah cover. With a straight, curved pattern of line floor. The music used in silat's show is gong, ecelpong, and eardrums.
