Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the difficulties, factors that arise and solutions that were carried out to overcome the causes of the difficulties of mathematics teachers caused in the application of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a field research through a qualitative descriptive approach. In this study, the data sources used were primary and secondary. Observations, interviews and documentation studies were used in data collection and triangulation was used to check the validity of the data. Data analysis consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and leveraging. The results showed the difficulties experienced by mathematics teachers in online learning, namely, network disturbances, limited cellphone facilities and internet quotas, difficulties in delivering material, lack of student understanding, some students were not active in online learning, parents did not guide students in learning. Which causes difficulties internally, namely the financing factor, the lack of teacher ability in IT. Meanwhile, externally, namely natural conditions, students are not used to learning independently, and parents are busy. To minimize difficulties, it is to keep providing offline assignments, regular communication with parents, asking teachers or other students, and training for teachers. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that there are no special or specific difficulties experienced only by mathematics teachers in the implementation of online learning during Covid-19, but the difficulties experienced are general difficulties that can also be experienced by teachers of other subjects.
