Abstract
This type of research was a quantitative descriptive study. The population in this study was the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru, amounting to 134 people. The sampling technique is representative sampling and the number of samples is 60 people. The instrument used is a questionnaire. After the calculation, the average score of motivation as a whole is 69.8%. Based on the assessment criteria, the score of 69.8% is in the range of values between 51%-75% in the high category. This means that the motivation of SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru students in physical activity is still quite high, although not all students who participated in answering this questionnaire were motivated to engage in physical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
