Abstract

This research was carried out due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure owned by the school so that in student learning it was difficult to put bullets. The difficulties experienced by students are in the form of basic shot put motions. The purpose of this study is to improve the basic motion of the shot put by using a modified tool and to find out that the application of modification of the tool can improve the basic motion of the seventh grade student of MTS Darun Na'im Simpang Kubu. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) design. The variable used is the rubric for assessing the basic motion of the shot put. The subjects of this study were 24 students of class VII MTS Darun Na'im Simpang Kubu. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics with percentages. The results obtained in this study indicate that there is an increase in the basic motion of the shot put. This is indicated by the increase in the basic movement results of the seventh grade students of MTS Darun Na'im Simpang Kubu in the first cycle as many as 17 students get a complete score with a percentage (71%) while those who do not get a complete score are 7 students with a percentage (29%). In the second cycle there was an increase as many as 22 students got a complete score with a percentage of (92%) while those who did not get a complete score were 2 students with a percentage of (8%). based on the data analysis that the researchers have done, it can be concluded that by using a modified tool in learning to put a bullet for class VII students of MTS Darun Na'im Simpang Kubu can improve the basic motion of the shot put.
