Abstract

Literary sociology is a literary research that examines the relationship of literary work with humans and their social processes. Research problems (1) how are the ethical aspects in Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree Works Novel, (2) how are the social aspects in Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree Works, (3) how are the cultural aspects of Andrea Hirata's Novel Tree Circus. The purpose of the study was to collect data and information about aspects of ethics, social aspects, and cultural aspects in the Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree Works Novel. The scope of research is included in literary criticism in the aspects of the study of sociology of literature. The theory used is the theory of Sikana (1986), Salam (2012), Soekanto (2004), Faruk (1999), Ratna (2013), and other theories that support this research. The source of the data is the whole contents of the Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree Works. This literature sociology research approach is through a qualitative approach to the type of library research. The method used is descriptive method. The data collection technique used is hermeneutic technique. Data analysis techniques are 1) Grouping data according to research problems, 2) Data collected or grouped processed using theory, 3) Making conclusions based on the data obtained, 4) Data that has been analyzed is presented in accordance with the systematic writing of scientific papers in the form of a thesis. Research Results 1) In this Andrea Hirata Sirkus Pohon Karya novel there are several aspects of ethics, aspects of conscience, aspects of responsibility, and aspects of obligation. Ethical aspects contained in the novel Sirkus Pohon Karya Andrea Hirata are reflected in the attitude and behavior of the characters seen in the story. In Sirkus Pohon novels, the author tells a lot about someone's actions towards others. 2) The social aspects found in Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree of Work are social interaction and social groups. Social aspects in this novel are intertwined between leaders who support each other and there is also support from social groups. 3) Cultural Aspects found in Andrea Hirata's Circus Tree Works. Cultural aspects are shown, such as the existence of beliefs, customs and arts of the Malay community. Keywords: culture, ethics, social, sociology.
