Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a mathematics teaching material in the form of a module based on Discovery Learning on comparative material for SMP class VII whose validity has been tested. The development method used to develop learning tools in this research is the development or R&D method using the ADDIE model, which includes; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation and 5) Evaluation. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the ADDIE development model was carried out in only three stages, namely; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, and 3) Development. This study uses an instrument in the form of a LKPD validation sheet. While the data collection technique used was data validation from 2 lecturers of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Riau and 1 mathematics teacher for class VII SMPN 4 DUMAI. The data analysis technique used is validation data analysis. The results showed the material expert module in the very valid category with a total average of 88.08% and the media expert module in the very valid category with a total average of 88.88%. Based on the results of this study, a Discovery Learning-based module on comparative material in class VII was tested for validity. So that the resulting teaching materials can be diagnosed as valid teaching materials for use in the classroom.
