Abstract
The results of observations made by students in class VIII Junior High School 6 Siak Hulu Kampar long jump athletics. Researchers found that the long jump ability of students was still unsatisfactory. This study aimed to determine the contribution of leg muscle power to the long jump ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Siak Hulu The type of research used in this study was correlation. The research instrument used was the Standing Broad Jumpt test, and the long jump test in athletic sports the long jump number. The sample of this study amounted to 25 people. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing obtained it can be concluded that there was no significance of the contribution of leg muscle power to the ability long jump by r count> r table or 1.15> 0.38. But it has a contribution value of 13.22% and the remaining 86.78% is influenced by other factors.
