Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of leg muscle power and arm muscle power to the volleyball smash results of extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. This type of research is a multiple correlation. The population in this study were extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru, totaling 22 students. The sample technique in this study was total sampling, thus the number of samples was 22 people. From the data processing with statistical calculations the following results were obtained: 1) There was a contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the volleyball smash results of extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru by 32.1% with a calculated value of 0.622. 2) There is a contribution of arm muscle power to the volleyball smash results of extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru by 29.2% with a calculated value of 0.633. 3) There was a contribution of leg muscle power and arm muscle power together to the volleyball smash result of extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru by 40.7% with a double correlation coefficient value of 0.723.
