Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of eye-foot coordination and leg muscle explosive power to the speed of sickle kicks in the extracurricular pencak silat students at the Taruna Mandiri Vocational School Pekanbaru. This type of research is a multiple correlation. The population in this study was the pencak silat extracurricular at Taruna Mandiri Vocational School in Pekanbaru, amounting to 16 male fighters. The sampling technique was total sampling where the entire population was sampled. The instruments used in this study were eye-foot coordination test, vertical jump test and sickle kick test. The conclusions of this study are: 1) There is no contribution of eye-foot coordination to the results of the sickle kick speed. Count result rx1y = 0,170 < 0,497. 2) There is no contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the result of sickle kick speed.Count result = rx2y = 0,141 < 0,497. 3) There was no contribution of eye-foot coordination and leg muscle explosive power to the results of the sickle kick speed of the extracurricular pencak silat students at Taruna Mandiri Vocational School Pekanbaru. Count result =rx1x2y = 0,204 < 0,497.
