Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the problems of students in learning English using Google classroom. Google Classroom is a mixed learning model that is used for every scope of education which aims as a solution to the difficulties in creating, sharing and grouping assignments without having to collect paperless assignments. The purpose of learning with Google Classroom is for students to gain deeper knowledge using technology. In this study, the researcher wanted to know the problems faced by students when learning English using Google classroom. Three problems faced by students in learning English using Google classroom include The first internet access, second understanding of the materials and the last technology knowledge. The researcher performed the mixed method because it uses two data collection methods, qualitative and quantitative. The data were taken from the first grade students of SMAN 1 Tandun. This study took 10 respondents from X1 as a sample. In this study, researchers used questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. Based on the results of the highest percentage of each indicator, the main problem for students of class X IPA 1 SMA N 1 Tandun in learning English using Google classroom is when accessing the understanding the material and is calculated 79%, the second is followed by internet access 75% and the last is knowledge of technology 56%.
