Abstract
The situation during the COVID-19 pandemic has changed people's actions or psychological images in determining their decisions to buy basic goods, this situation is able to directly affect prices, products, and places. This has an effect on consumer buying decisions. Although, during the current covid-19 pandemic, it will bring about a different attitude that will make students behave consumptively in decisions to buy products and services. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior of students during the covid-19 pandemic. The data collection method used a scale, namely the self-control scale and the consumptive behavior scale. The subjects in this study were psychology students at the Islamic University of Riau. The sample of this study amounted to 300 students. The technique used for sampling is simple random sampling. The data analysis method used is the Spearman Rho test. The results of the statistical study showed a correlation (r) of = -0.199 with a significance of 0.01. This shows that there is a negative relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior. This means that the lower the self-control possessed by students, the higher the consumptive behavior of students
