Abstract

Indonesia as a democratic country continues to experience problems until now, such as the high number of Golput actors (white people) caused by various factors, one of which is the negative perception of political actors, the political system to the way politics occurs in Indonesia. Perception is the brain's ability to translate incoming stimuli into the human senses. The purpose of this study was to find out how the Political Perceptions of the Students of the Psychology Faculty, Riau Islamic University, were abstainers. This study uses qualitative research methods using a phenomenological approach and data collection techniques with interview methods. The results of this study are students of the Faculty of Psychology, Riau Islamic University. Golput actors have a negative perception of the world of politics, the subjectfeelsdisappointedwiththeperformanceofthegovernment,thebadsystemand the dirty political style. The form of the subject's disappointment is by withdrawing from various political activities such aselections.
