Abstract

This research aims to develop and produce valid and practical mathematics learning tools in the 2013 curriculum. The learning tools which is develop in the form of a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) and Student Activity Sheet (LAS) using the Discovery Learning model. Development of learning tools in research using modification of R&D, with several stages, namely: (1) Definition; (2) Planning; (3) Development; (4) Spread. The trial of this product was carried out in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru with 40 students. The instruments of this study were RPP validation sheets, LAS validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaire. From the research results obtained the validity of the RPP of 85.23% with the validity criteria is very valid and the validity value of LAS is 85.60% with the validity criteria is very valid. The results of the practicality of the RPP of 96.42% with very practical criteria obtained from the teacher's questionnaire responses. While the results of the practicality of LAS of 89.45% were obtained from the results of the student questionnaire responses. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that this research development resulted in a mathematics learning tool with the Discovery Learning Curriculum 2013 VIII grade of junior high school that was tested for its validity and practicality.
