Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning outcomes in mathematics in students of class X MIPA2 SMA 10 Pekanbaru through the application of discovery learning models using geogebra software. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIPA2 SMA 10 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2019/2020, there are 36 students with heterogeneous characteristics and abilities. The form of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in collaboration between teachers and researchers, The action in this study consisted of two cycles. Data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets and test sheets of learning outcomes that had been analyzed. Data analysis techniques used in this study were descriptive data analysis with qualitative data analysis and quantitative data. Based on the results of the study obtained data that students who completed experienced an increase from the base score totaling 11 students or 30.05%, daily tests I 27 students or 75%, and daily tests II 32 students or 88.88%. The average student learning outcomes also increased from the basic score (47.08), daily tests I (74.05), and daily tests II (81.08). So it can be concluded that the application of discovery learning models using geogebra software can improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes of students of class X MIPA2 in SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru.
