Abstract
Its functions and facilities are very efficient, making credit cards very attractive to the public. Credit cards are very useful in times of emergency, for example when you don't carry cash and have to pay for the hospital. The existing facilities on credit cards cause the user community to live a consumptive life. However, there are some rights for credit card users that are not provided by the credit card issuing bank, such as education on the imposition of additional fees when transacting using a credit card. The main problem in this study is how the implementation of legal protection for credit card users in payment transactions using cards through the Electronic Data Capture machine at Bank Mandiri in Pekanbaru City and what are the obstacles encountered in implementing legal protection for credit card users in payment transactions using cards through Electronic Data Capture machine at Bank Mandiri in Pekanbaru City. This type of research is empirical research through descriptive nature. In this study the authors intend to see firsthand how the implementation of legal protection for credit card users in payment transactions using cards through the Electronic Data Capture machine at Bank Mandiri in Pekanbaru City and what obstacles are encountered in implementing legal protection for credit card users in payment transactions using cards. through the Electronic Data Capture machine at Bank Mandiri in Pekanbaru City. Data collection techniques using interview techniques and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that legal protection for credit card holders in every transaction using the Electronic Data Captured machine is still relatively weak. Then, the Merchant is not supposed to provide additional fees for every transaction made by credit card users. In addition, the government as the party in charge of every ongoing activity has given its attention by issuing Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, one of which is related to credit card users.
