Abstract

The free-range chicken farm is a business that has the potential to be developed, because almost every community maintains domestic poultry. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of breeders and business profile of domestic poultry in the District of Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru City, (2) Use of production factors, production costs, production, income and business efficiency of domestic poultry in the District of Tenayan Raya City Pekanbaru, (3) Factors affecting the production of free-range chicken business in the Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 6 months, starting from January to June 2020. The research method was conducted in a survey in the Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. Research respondents were 32 free-range chicken farmers. The analytical tool used is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis with the Cobb Douglas production function. The results of this study indicate: (1) Characteristics of free-range chicken breeders with an average age of 40.34 years, educational level of 10.31 years (SMP), number of dependents for a family of 3 people, business experience of 3.84 years. The business profile of domestic poultry has an average business scale of 656, 3.5 years of business, business capital of Rp 42,771,567. (2) The use of factors of production with an average area of 80.66 m², labor 39.59 HOK / production period, DOC 656 head / production period, Vivo 3.11 (DOC feed) 314 Kg / production period, Vivo 5.12 (finisher feed) 1,183 kg / production period, Raid chick 395 gr / production period, super fat 442 gr / production period, ND-IB 484 ml / production period. Production costs as much as Rp. 19,089,600 / production period, production of free-range chicken meat produced 663 kg / Period of production, gross income received Rp. 28,506,313 / Production period, net income or profit of Rp 9,416,713 / Production period and RCR at 1.49. (3) Factors that significantly influence the production of free-range chicken meat in the Tenayan Raya District of Pekanbaru City are the area of the cage, DOC and super fat. While labor, Vivo 3.11, Vivo 5.12, Raid chick and ND-IB have no significant effect on the production of free-range chicken meat.
