Abstract

Oyster mushroom business is a business that is flexible and does not take up time. In doing this business does not require special abilities to be able to run this business. This study aims to determine: (1) Characteristics of oyster mushroom farmers in Pekanbaru City, (2) Cultivation techniques, use of production factors, production costs, income and efficiency of oyster mushroom farming in Pekanbaru City, (3) Effect of the use of production factors on oyster mushroom production in Pekanbaru City, (4) The level of technical efficiency, price efficiency and economic efficiency in oyster mushroom farming in Pekanbaru City. The method used in this study is a survey method. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis with the Cobb-Douglas function and production efficiency analysis which included technical efficiency, price efficiency and economic efficiency. This research was conducted for 7 months starting from September 2019 until July 2020. The number of samples in this study were 34 oyster mushroom farmers. The results showed that (1) the average age of oyster mushroom farmers in Pekanbaru was 37 years of productive age, 12 years of farmers' education level, 2 years experience in farming, the number of family dependents was 4 people; (2) The use of oyster mushroom production factors in the city of Pekanbaru with an area of 55.15 m2. The number of seeds is 97.94 kg / period of production, the use of wood dust is 277.50 sacks / period of production, bran is 758.24 kg / period of production, lime is 61.47 kg / period of production and labor is 47.78 HOK / period production. In one production period, the farmers spent an average of Rp 17,738,986.72. The average production is 1,647.67 kg / period of production. The total production cost of oyster mushrooms is Rp 17,738,986.72, gross income is Rp 39,845,117.65 and net income is Rp 22,106,130.93; (3) the factors that influence the production of oyster mushrooms in Pekanbaru City are the area of land, seeds and wood dust at 5% real level. While rice bran, lime and labor are not significant and have no effect on the production of oyster mushrooms; (4) technical efficiency, price and economic use of input or oyster mushroom production factors in Pekanbaru City are on average inefficient, farmers must increase the use of inputs to increase production. If farmers add to the use of inputs, efficiency can be achieved so as to increase productivity and community income optimally, because without efficiency people cannot compete in the market.
