Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts and inhibiting factors of the performance of the Pekanbaru City Trade and Industry Service in Maintaining the Cleanliness and Beauty of the Simpang Baru Traditional Market, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. Performance indicators used include Effectiveness, Quantity, Quality and Timeliness. The research analysis technique which is located in Pasar Simpang Baru is a quantitative method which researches in the form of a percentage and ends with drawing a conclusion in providing advice through questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation. Respondents in this study amounted to 38 people. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, namely the determination of the sample with special considerations regarding the limitations of time, cost and energy that the author has. Types and data collection techniques used consisted of primary data obtained directly from respondents at the research location which included the problems being studied and secondary data were taken indirectly from the source and data obtained from the library, such as books related to research. While the data analysis technique used in this study is where the data that has been obtained are grouped and described according to their respective classifications. After that analysis is carried out to draw conclusions. Based on this analysis technique, the researchers concluded and assessed that the performance of the Pekanbaru City Trade and Industry Service in Maintaining the Cleanliness and Beauty of the Simpang Baru Traditional Market, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City was still in the Good Enough category. Recommendations that need to be considered, especially with regard to the need to increase the budget allocated for waste management activities, such as the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, additional market cleaning officers, security, order, cleanliness and placing the booth traders, street vendors in the market as a whole.
