Abstract

Writing skills have an important role for students because writing is one of the four language skills. The official letter is an official letter made by an agency or institution for the purposes of service. The problem in this research is how the ability writing an official letter for class VIII SMP Negeri 33 Pekanbaru academic year 2015/2016 based on official letter systematics. The general purpose of this research is to know the ability to write official letters of class VIII SMP Negeri 33 Pekanbaru for the 2015/2016 academic year based on letter systematics. Data and The collected information is described, analyzed, and interpreted systematically detailed and systematic so that real results can be obtained about the ability to write official letters for class VIII SMP Negeri 33 Pekanbaru years 2015/2016 school. The scope of this research is included in the scope of Indonesian language teaching is in the writing aspect. The theory used to analyze the problem of this research are Dalman (2015), Indri Saraswati (2015), Atar Semi (2008), Nursalim (2003), Nanik Suryani et al (2014), Lamudin Finoza (2001), Yuli Nidya Teresina (1993). The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP N 33 Pekanbaru for the 2015/2016 academic year who totaling 178 students. The sample in this study was a random sample, namely 50 student. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The technique used in this research is observation technique and test technique. The results of this study indicate that the students' ability to write official letters class VIII SMP Negeri 33 Pekanbaru academic year 2015/2016 based on the systematics of the letter is categorized as very good (90-100) thus the hypothesis in this study is accepted.
